Frequently Asked Questions

What is Recommended prior to getting my Boat Shrink Wrapped for Storage? (

1. Boats need to be dry prior to shrink wrap installation.
2. Remove all items out of the boat that may hold moisture or water
3. Open all hatches & cubbyholes to promote air flow
4. For Boat Storage wraps we recommend adding a Air Dryer Fan or something similar during the storage period. (Requires extension cord & electrical outlet / works well with outdoor timer)

How long does the Shrink Wrap last? (

Our typical shrink wrap installation can be for winter storage, weatherizing an asset, protection during transport or containing an area from the elements. We estimate that period of time to be around 6-12 months however this is by no means how long the product or the installation will last. Some of our customers have (with some light repair) our shrink wrap installs last up to 3-5 years but the location and the exposure to weather all play their part in the life span. This gives you peace of mind from a reputable product that delivers exactly what is demanded.

What is Shrink Film? Why is it the best temporary cover?

We use premium grade, 100% virgin resin polyethylene shrink wrap varying between 7mil-12mil thickness, suited for Heavy-Duty applications. Once applied, it leaves a tight, weatherproof, UV resistant cover to weatherize, protect, and contain any assets for storage, general protection or transportation. Shrink wrap packaging not only works well but secures tightly around an object so there is no flapping in the wind to deteriorate itself.. unlike tarps or other covers. Anything can be shrink wrapped, the material breathes (along with the ventilation that is added). Also, the asset that is wrapped can be accessible by installing zipper doors.

Reasons to NOT use a Residential Tarp for covering an object.

  • Tarps require constant maintenance
  • Tarps break down quickly in ultraviolet light (sunlight)
  • Tarps wear out quick, they lose their weatherproof capabilities and develop tiny pin holes
  • Even new tarps will usually leak around the seams and grommets
  • Tarps trap moisture and can cause water damage
  • Tarps need ropes or bungees to cover an object
  • Tarps, ropes, bungees may flap or baffle in the weather and rub against the object they are covering causing potential damage
  • Its a hassle to store tarps and all of their related items
  • Tarps do not cover objects tightly
